As you may know by now, we monitor hundreds of sites waiting for something exciting to happen and today we have a Ways 2 Save that lives up to its name!!
A $200 Bluetooth Headset is FREE today!!
$200 is the suggested retail price, so before you start telling us it retails for cheaper elsewhere or you found it for a great price somewhere else…. we’re talking about FREE here. The headset is made by RIM (Blackberry) and based on our research will work with most bluetooth enabled phones…. so you’re not restricted to using it with a Blackberry.
Is there a catch to this too good to be true deal? Not really. The item is NEW, (NOT refurbished!), shipping is $4.99 and you will be forced to fill out a rebate form between now and August 1st, 2009.
The site is legit (we order from them often) and they are fully authorized to offer this deal and the rebate. If you’re looking for the rebate link, it’s right under the buy button on today’s site.
No it’s not a scam! Not too many people are buying expensive headsets these days, and the company is probably hoping for thousands and thousands of sales today from people who forget to print their rebates (form won’t be available tomorrow on the site); and those who forget to mail it in.
And at worst, you’re just out $24.99 until you get that money back from the rebate from Blackberry. We checked and Blackberry says it will honor this rebate because the site qualifies as a store, just make sure you print your email receipt to send in with the rebate.
Today’s deal will sell out fast! So embrace all that is good and free today.
Happy Savings and please remember to print your rebate form directly from the site: CLICK HERE.

Yahoo Comes To Lockport, NY
State, local and company officials on Tuesday formally
announced that Internet giant Yahoo! has selected a Town of Lockport industrial park for its newest global computer hub, investing $150 million and bringing up to 125 jobs.
The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based technology firm will build its new East Coast Regional data center on about 30 acres in the Townof Lockport Industrial Park, located just west of the Delphi Corp. plant.
Plans call for a two-phase construction and computer equipment “fit-out,” using what Yahoo! executive David Dibble called a “brand new design and engineering approach” to create an environmentally friendly “green” facility, with approximately 191,000 square feet.
The first phase will create 75 jobs in exchange for receiving 10 megawatts of low-cost hydropower from the New York Power Authority. Construction on that portion of the project, consisting of office and data center space, is expected to begin in August and be completed in time for the facility to be operational by May 2010.
The second phase, expected to start in spring 2012, would receive 15 megawatts of power, with Yahoo! investing “tens of millions” in additional dollars and creating another 50 jobs, for a total of 125. That phase is entirely for the data center.
The jobs will pay between $65,000 and $75,000, plus benefits, and include a variety of engineering and other technical positions, some of which are entry-level but mostly skilled, experienced jobs. “They are significant positions,” said Dibble, executive vice president of service engineering and operations for Yahoo!.
Additionally, the jobs include other functions not related to the data center, including global help desk and highly skilled “network optimization” positions, Dibble added in an interview.
About 250 short-term construction jobs will also be created, according to a summary from the Town of Lockport Industrial Development Agency.
Besides the low-cost power, the Lockport IDA is providing Yahoo! with a 20-year abatement of county and state sales taxes on equipment and a 20-year phased payment-in-lieu-of-taxes (PILOT) to replace property taxes. Yahoo! will pay nothing for the first 10 years, 20 percent of its assessed value for the next two, 40 percent for the next two, 60 percent for the next two, 80 percent for the next two, and then 100 percent for the last two.
The IDA has scheduled a public hearing to consider the proposal at 3 p.m. today at its offices at the Lockport Municipal Center. The Lockport Planning Board also scheduled a public hearing on Yahoo!’s site plan application today at 4 p.m. at Lockport Town Hall.
The industrial park, currently home to 13 businesses with 200 employees, is a 400-acre property, with full utility services. Specifically, the Yahoo! site is bounded by Junction Road on the west, Enterprise Drive on the south, and Crown Drive on the east. Yahoo! would buy the property from the Lockport IDA.
Bernie Madoff appeared in a federal courtroom this morning to find out his fate for carrying out the biggest fraud in financial history. Judge Denny Chin sentenced Madoff to the maximum—150 years behind bars—telling the courtroom that he didn’t believe Madoff’s claim that he had cooperated with prosecutors, or that he had divulged all he knew about the scheme.
Madoff’s victims erupted in cheers after the sentence was handed down, Bernie barely reacted to the news, and now Madoff is off to change out of the “immaculate” suit he wore to court today and put on the prison jumpsuit he’ll be wearing for the rest of his life.

Benvenuti and welcome to the 2009 Sorrento Cheese Italian Heritage Festival of Buffalo New York on Hertel Avenue in the heart of Buffalo’s “Little Italy”. It is with great pride that we invite you to take in the sights, sounds, food and culture that make the Italian-American experience so very special.
Not withstanding the current economic crisis our festival continues to grow every year in vendors, attendance, special features and events. While last year’s Trevi Fountain replica was a big hit, this year we are featuring a working replica of Mt. Vesuvius complete with hourly eruptions and the Bay of Naples as a backdrop. All of the festival favorites are back including: the best local entertainment, bocce tournament, Miss Italian Festival, Italian Idol Contest, cooking demonstrations, essay contest for scholarships, computers for genealogical research, Italian bilingual Mass, religious processions, amusements and crafts for kids all offer something for everyone’s enjoyment.
After the tragic earthquake of April 6th in our beloved Italy (L’Aquila-Abruzzo) the Sorrento Cheese Italian Heritage Festival is donating a percentage of its proceeds from the 2009 festival to the Italian Earthquake Relief Fund set up through the office of our Vice Counsel for Italy to Western New York.
Buffalo, NY
Buffalo (pronounced /ˈbʌfəloʊ/), is the second largest city in the state of New York. Located in Western New York on the eastern shores of Lake Erie and at the head of the Niagara River, Buffalo is the principal city of the Buffalo-Niagara Falls metropolitan area and the seat of Erie County.[5] The city itself has a population of 292,648 (2000 Census)[1], and the metropolitan area 1,170,111 (2000 Census)[6], the 46th largest in the United States. The Buffalo–Niagara–Cattaraugus Combined Statistical Area is home to 1,254,066 residents.
Originating around 1789 as a small trading community near the eponymous Buffalo Creek,[3] Buffalo grew quickly after the opening of the Erie Canal in 1825, with the city as its western terminus. By 1900, Buffalo was the 8th largest city in the country, [7] and went on to become a major railroad hub,[8] the largest grain-milling center in the country, [9] and the home of the largest steel-making operation in the world. [10] The latter part of the 20th Century saw a reversal of fortunes: by the year 1990 the city had fallen back below its 1900 population levels. The rerouting of Great Lakes shipping by the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway was a factor in the decline of the city. The closing or relocating of many of the steel mills and other heavy industries in the area also contributed to the decline.
Buffalo, New York
I’m from Buffalo. We eat chicken wings, not Buffalo wings. Jack Kemp is a quarterback, not a politician. We drink Labatt Blue and love it. Mighty Taco always has preference over Taco Bell. Pop, not soda and Pepsi, not Coke.
They are sneakers not tennis shoes. It’s a sucker, not a lollipop. Bison chip dip, La Nova Pizzeria, Aunt Rosie’s Loganberry, Chevettas Chicken, Peter K’s Potato Pancakes and Ted’s Hot Dogs are all too familiar…not to forget Taffy’s Shakes and Charlie the butcher.
A fake ID is unneccessary, there is always Canada…But we have them anyway. Our bars don’t close until 4amm and we DO sell beer in a grocery store (Tops or Wegmans), which always makes for early starts and late nights. Jim’s steak out at 4 in the morning is calling it an early night…
We never cuss, but we swear entirely too much. We know that a 65 mph speed limit really means 80. We will cut you off, swear, and give you the finger if you are keeping up AND do it all in the snow, while expecting nothing less in return. Driving in the snow not only comes naturally, it is fun.
We know what Artvoice and Nightlife are and we either love them or try to burn every copy we see. We start the weekends off right at Thursdays in the square while enjoying beer, free music, and an interesting crowd.
We lived through Wide Right, The Forward Lateral, and No Goal. Dubbed by Dan Marino as “the meanest fans because no-one actually wants to live here…”
We all know he wouldn’t stand one winter up here. We love the Bills (no matter what) and accept that it takes 2-4 hours to get home from a game. Nothing closes in 3 feet of snow or -20 windchills…In fact, that’s how we prefer to tailgate.
We can correctly pronounce, spell, and identify Chippewa, Scajaquada, Lackawanna, Cheektowaga, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Olean, Tonawanda and Gowanda without hesitation. When giving direction it’s not “take I-90 to Route 33 east” it’s ” take the 90 to the 33 east”…”the” is not an option.
We are 30 minutes from another country, one of the seven wonders of the world, and even a few beaches. It’s the second largest city in New York.
I AM FROM BUFFALO, a drinking town with a sports problem, and damn proud!
LOVE IT OR HATE IT!
